I can't believe it??  Best doc??  Wha??  I think those people in LA get it!

I am so absolutely thrilled, I can't tell you!   I feel like I am at the Academy Awards!

THANK YOU ALL :  especially my family who worked for food and late curfews.  Oh and Donna Hansen who worked for baby sitting money!  Most of all,  Tyler Merkel who worked like a dog for almost nothing but belief in a crazy old film student who spent a lot ...

Well, all the latest editing work is done, I've got my press kit packets and posters, and some comfortable walking shoes.  I feel a little light-headed and nervous, like a kid going off to college for the first time.  I can't remember when i've spent a week alone, without Steve or the kids. Probably hasn't happened since I was single.  Boy is that a long time ago!

My sister advised me to get the most comfortable shoes possible so I...

Well, well, well.  I am admittedly in a state of semi-paralyzed amazement!   At the end of June 2013 I received an email that I had been accepted into the New York Asian American Film Festival as a "Work-in-Progress."  See:  http://www.asiancinevision.org/aaiff2013/filmcat13/event13/.  The New York festival is the oldest Asian American Film Festival in the United States and each ...

Well, if you haven't already seen the rejection letter from Denver Film Festival, take a look on my Facebook Page:  "dharma road movie."  It sounds like I made it out of the slush pile and someone actually may have considered it at some point. Right now it has been submitted to SF Asian American FF, LA Asian American FF, Sacramento FF, Vancouver Women's FF.

I think it would benefit from more editing but my editor finished his obligation with the project and I don't think ...

The first thing I did after I turned in my short documentary was clean the cat box and put a chicken in the oven for my husband who has been sorely deprived of home cooked meals for the last two months while I've tried to get the documentary ready for submission.  There is a kitchen full of dirty dishes, late bills to pay, tenants to be looked after, and friends to contact as I emerge from the editing hell that ha...

Well, Tyler and I are putting in the late late hours to finnish the film by this Friday (6th).  We are both exhausted.  Have I been working like this for three weeks?  Feels like months.  Last night I was up to 4 am, Tyler 3 am,; tonight probably 1 am while I wait for the files to load to "Just Cloud." The music has been hard as we did not get all the releases we wanted so I bought some tracks from Sound dogs.  I am begining to be happy with how the doc is going but a...

06-21-2012 Sam's Poster

I've been re-doing some interviews, following up on releases, getting bio and photo material to Andrea for the press kit.  I even worked on the credits today!  But the most inspiring thing that happened today was Sam finished his first draft of a poster for the film and it is beautiful!
